This is not mine, this is via a friend from FB.

"when they arrived their apartment was practically gone. They are left with nothing, and are expecting their first child, a daughter, in September. We are not the ones to ask for help, but with their renters insurance through the apartment company itself, they are only placing them in another apartment and not covering any personal belongings that were lost."

which was September 13. It's estimated that 1 in 133 people suffer from this. Untreated Celiac disease can lead to mental problems, epilepsy, or cancer. If you are frequently sick after eating, have weight problems, fatigue, bad tooth enamel, tingling or numbness in your hands and feet, you could have celiac.

http://www.celiaccentral.org/News/News-Feeds/Celiac-in-the-News/Celiac-in-the-News/161/vobid--3693/

If you go to the left hand menu, there is a check list for if you think you might have celiac disease. If you go the the main page, it tells you all about what celiac is and isn't.

Anyway spreading the word.

Do you like Sherlock Holmes stories? Read "The White Company" or the Professor Challenger series? There is a "Save Undershaw" preservation thing going. Undershaw was Arthur Conan Doyle's home that he had built. Doyle also drew the first draft before it was passed on to the architect, Joseph Henry Ball.

Have I pimped Chris Young's monthly mailings of "Hold Something?" If I haven't well then here it is...
http://dimlightarchive.com/?page_id=684

He's a great story writer. Every month you get a photograph and a story. Every story so far has been great reading.

But Chris is also trying to raise money for something else, his "top surgery." (Mr. Young is an FtM.) So if you want to help Mr. Young take his shirt off, go to the page in his journal that talks about it.

The storyline sounds cool. And spooky. It reminds me of reading stuff about the Inquisition; you know it rarely ends well.
Clipped from the website...
"The Witches of Lublin is based on true and little known history of klezmer musicians in Eastern Europe. Co-writer Yale Strom's research uncovered the facts that there were women klezmer musicians, and that when klezmers would play for gentile nobility, their reward could sometimes be beatings, death or even kidnappings. This history formed the springboard for this work of fiction by Strom, Schwartz and Kushner based on Jewish women's lives in 18th Century Europe, klezmer music and feminist history, with a healthy dose of magical realism thrown in. I was browsing some of the discussion boards on Amazon and found folks asking for beading advice and supplies.

Theresa Nolan is bed bound and bored to tears. She has no money but loves beading and crafts. If you can spare any latch hooks, knitting board or circle looms or beads or anything she can do from the bed it would be greatly appreciated. If you want specifics on her illness she would be willing to provide the information.

Marianne Slattery in Ireland is also looking for beading advice. She uses her beading skills to fund her disabled son's school, as a way to pass time while waiting at the hospital, and as gifts for the nurses in the hospitals. Apparently crafts and beading stores are not very popular in her neck of the woods.

Misty18630 posted on November 7th asking for beading supplies. She and her husband were looking for work and she was wanting to make Christmas gifts for her kids. Someone sent her legos and someone sent scarves and some folks sent beading things. It's a wonderful thread to read and shows the power of the internet.

Just boosting the signals.

Clipped from their Meetup page.

"People who are interested in being an active participant in the creation of a new possibility for homeless cats and dogs. We share a vision of our community as "a place where pets are safe and nurtured, and kill-shelters are a thing of the past."

Our goal is to start a pet food bank in order to reach out to people who are at risk of surrendering their beloved pet due to financial hardship. This will also serve as a platform to provide information on other community resources/programs and education (spay/neuter, heart worm prevention, etc.) to help reduce unwanted litters and costly vet expenses."

This is a great goal, and I wish there was a group in Dallas.

Anyway, boosting the signal. This group is also looking for sponsors, so if you have a place of business they could meet, please contact them.
