Before the pandemic, I had (on and off) looked for full-time work with benefits.  (At this time, I am not sure with whom I had mentioned any job searching.  It could have been a previous admin.)

Anyway, by accident, I happened to see that White Rock Soap Gallery was hiring for full-time.  And they have full benefits, (that I don't pay for. )

Well, now that I have handed in my two weeks notice,  both the store manager and assistant manager have mentioned the possibility of me getting full-time at Kohl's.

I am now wondering about what questions I should be asking, or even if I should stay.  Though I am really leaning towards leaving.

And I have already signed up for training at WRSG. I have decided that I will make my decision after training.  If I really like the atmosphere, then I am definitely leaving Kohl's.

I have been here since 2007 or '08, possibly it's time to move on.

Anyhoo,

If any previous Kohl's workers on my f'list want to comment, feel free.

tomorrow! I have to be there at 6:00 am. Bah. Looking forward to getting that bone chip removed, but not wanting to have that reaction to anesthesia that I had with my Acessa. (I took an hour and 45 minutes longer than they expected to wake up, I was vomiting, and I couldn't eat anything but chicken broth and tea.)

Anyway, check back in when I am more awake.

On another note, a co-worker died. I am not really surprised, because Ginger had been sick for awhile. First she got breast cancer, then she ended up with leukemia, had a bone marrow transplant. About 40 days after, she got an infection. She's been in the hospital. I'd heard from her bestie Carolyn (who also works at Kohl's) that they had to drug her because she was hallucinating.

Well, I got to talk to Helen (who was also on friendly terms with her.) Ginger had been on the upswing, alert and awake. Ginger's daughter contacted them with the news that her mom had had some sort of episode at the hospital. Ginger had started crying at the nurses/ doctors that she was tired of this, and she wanted them to let her go.

So they did.....

I'm wondering how Carolyn and Ginger's daughter are doing now.

I'll admit that when I came in to work today, I saw a vase with live cut flowers, and I was like "oh shit, did Ginger die?"

Sigh.... need to find out when the funeral is.

It's been a busy last couple of weeks. Or at least since *Black Friday*. (Cue ominous Spanish Inquisition music for Black Friday.)

Mom had two doctor's appointments this week, plus last week I had to work overnight and was working on Black Friday. I haven't had much time to do much on line.

Sigh, I can hardly wait until the Christmas season ends.

Four cats have also shown up at/near my door step. Two have allowed me to get near them, the other two run off. The two that run off; one solid black and one is gray and white.

Of the two that let me get close; one is a small very friendly kitten who loves attention, knows what a litter box is for, and plays with the toys my cats ignore. The other is a gray multi female (who may be pregnant.) The gray female is very shy, and won't let me touch her. She will eat food I put out. She's also a very good mouser. She caught a mouse that was trying to get into one of the vents under the house.

But it's funny when I have the door open. She looks at the doorway like she *really* wants inside, and then at me like she's debating. "i wantz inside but i haz to go past strange hoomin..." So far desire to be inside has not won out over her fear of having to go past me.

I called the local ASPCA and they told me I have to go all the way to the shelter on Westmoreland to file a found animal report. (This would be a 45 minute drive one way from where I live and I've never driven that far either.) Sigh... why don't they have somewhere I can do this online?

At least I filed a report with Petfinder dot com.

mY CAT... oops sorry my cat Thomas put the capslock on. My cat Thomas is doing better. Finally over his stomach infection/inflammation. Thankfully, as he needs to get his shots. And so does Mariah.

Tomorrow is my last pottery class for this semester. I am not ready! I want more lab time!

Also had a co-worker, S, have a bad situation come up.

Okay, S. and her hubby sold their house. They have been planning to move. He to Marshall and she wants to stay in Dallas. She says that their divorce has been 6 years coming in their 7 year marriage. She said he was surprised at her saying she wants a divorce. He has three kids yet he's not a loving father. (She actually tried to set me up with him because he doesn't care for kids and I don't have any. I was like, "what?" and "but I don't wanna be the rebound date" and "hey, I still wouldn't mind having kids one day")

Anyway, he's been sick for about a month with a low grade fever. He's had tests (I don't know exactly what.) Thursday S was a bit out of her usual work ability. (She's usually fast and accurate.) Her soon to be ex-hubby has Stage 4 cancer. She was saying she wanted him gone but she didn't want him dead. (Poor S.)

So she might decide to move back to her home country because it would be easier for her to manage the three kids with help from the relatives than if she stayed here. She has a lot of friends here, but S says it would be easier to get her relatives to help out with the kids rather than her friends. Her hubby might also want to go back because he would rather be around his family members if he is dying.

Okay, I'll admit a tiny part of me went selfish and so wanted to say, "But you can't leave us when we're so shorthanded!"

Sigh... I hope things go well for her. I can't help but to think that this is going to be the hardest on the three kids. I mean, okay maybe their dad doesn't really care for them, but I'm sure that they still love him. (Well, she told me that the oldest said to her, "Mom, dad's not a very good dad.")

Poopy.

R (co-worker at retail) really has some issues.

Last Thursday she forgot to change the date on the RF unit and so it was showing the sale sign information for that day instead of the next day. She scanned mens, then remarked to me that none of her sale signs changed. I asked her if she had changed the date to tomorrow's date. R said... "Oh... s***!" Thankfully she only had a small portion of mens so it wasn't too bad.

Today when we started I reminded her about changing the date on the walkies we use at work.

And....

drumroll...

She left up the expired sale signs on what she scanned today. I asked P (store supervisor) if he heard me remind her. He said he did. Good. I reminded her so that this in no way my fault that the newbie screwed up again.

Oh and P and R had this little exchange...

R, going past P: "How are you today, B."
P was busy looking down at her RF and didn't reply. So R asks her again.
P looks up and responds. "I wouldn't know how B is doing."
R; "Why wouldn't you know how you are doing?"
P, "I'm not B."
R "Well, then who are you today?"
P, "Same person everyday; I'm P."
R, "Oh...."

I find that with R, you have to break stuff down as into as simple bits as possible. Showing her works sometimes. And a *lot* of times she gives you this blank look when you are explaining something to her. She'll say "Okay" when you ask her if she got it. Then later you find out she didn't understand what you were trying to tell her. If you don't understand me, let me know, dagnabbit!

J (our new supervisor) said whatever she's on, he wants some. lol!

The darned thing is that one of the supervisors really likes her and when we've complained about R having problems doing the job, she will get after us and remind us that Ad Set is a team and we have to help each other. But we spend an hour or more fixing her mistakes.

Sigh... I'm frustrated... I want a new job.
