I posted more to my FB than here. I'm more awake today than I was previously. (But man, these farts!)

Anyway.....

From November 30th, about 10 something pm....

Well, that was an experience.

My first time under anesthesia, and I don't even remember the face mask or the anesthesiologist asking me to count backwards. Then when I woke up, I vomited a lot. My stomach has finally settled. Earlier all I could have was the liquid of the chicken soup and tea. Was finally able to eat the rice and chicken a little while ago.

Haven't tried to eat any bean burritos yet.....

PS, the anesthesiologist said that next time, I need to have 'the light stuff.'

">So, yesterday, after the surgery, I was trying to get Dad to go pick up my pain pills. The pharmancy had sent me a text that my pills were ready. So I try to tell Dad, because I'm in a lot of pain. He keeps saying they won't be ready for an hour, and somehow he keeps hearing pharmancy as "windy" or "Wednesday". Finally had to show him the text that said they were ready.
I need some punchlines about how deaf Dad is......

Then at 2:07pm
">
Have discovered that I cannot sit for very long. Oh, well the doctor wanted me to walk around some, so maybe standing counts?

Because when I sit, one of my pokeholes is right at a sit-fold, so it sort of bugs it.

Funny little side note; Thursday, while I had my phone on the charger, it rang. Getting up with three pokeholes in the abdomen is not very easy. I was flailing my arms and legs like a bug on its back. I yelled at my dad to get my phone, but of course he didn't understand. (It was either the doctor's nurse or the surgery center calling, and of course I missed the call.)

I also realize that I didn't get enough applesauce, and I've run out. So I asked Dad to get more for me, but today he came back from the grocery store saying he couldn't find the juice I wanted. I gave him an empty packet for reference.... sigh.

I also asked Dad yesterday to pick up some chicken broth for me, because of my rocky stomach. He just got it today, and I've already mostly finished it off.

At least I'm cleared to return to outside Monday. (Though I think I'm taking that off just to be sure. I'll go back either Wednesday or Thursday.) I'm going to try to get some more to eat then.

And my pain isn't as bad as it was Wednesday. It's mostly achy now, I haven't had pain pill since this morning. So I'll try Tylenol, and see how that works.

So, I'm not very happy, really....

Okay, so I realize I'm probably too old to have kids (and with Trump having won, that's probably a good thing.) But I don't think I was really ready for all this yet.

I met with the regular gyn (not the specialist one out in Arlington) Monday. I'm really trying not to cry over it.

I have about 22 fibroids in my uterus. She's not sure that Acessa would help get the ones on the back wall of the uterus. My uterus really might need to come out. Bummer... I'm just not ready for that yet.

I'm also having some pain in the right leg, and that might be the darned fibroids pushing on the sciatic nerve. (I pointed out that I'd hurt my left foot, and so was having to put more pressure on the right leg.)

I'm going to go ahead and do the Acessa, and hope that helps shrink things down.

Anyway..... Not quite sure where to go from here.

The one cool thing was the drawing one of the staff did of my uterus, attempting to map the fibroids. They 'fisted' the little fallopian tubes, and added angry eyebrows. It was actually kinda' cute.

Finally!

Dashing off a quick note about my fibroids.

Tuesday, I got a call from the surgery coordinator at Matlock OBGYN. She got a letter that the decision by the insurance has been over turned.

I wanted the Acessa treatment, but the insurance said it was not an acceptable treatment. (Go look at Dr. Bruce Lee on Facebook. Or google Acessa.)

So I will be going to go have my fibroids 'burned out' by a laroscopic(sp?) style instrument on November 30. Dr. Lefholz says that usually she can get away with one hole, but they might need to make two in my case.

I can't drive myself home, so I'll need a ride home. I sent a text to my uncle to see if he can drive me back, but no response yet.

I'm going though, I don't care if I have to hire someone.

Will talk about the letter from the Texas Department of Insurance concerning the decision later.

So, maybe about a month or so back, I was trying to get my Junel refilled at Kroger. Apparently Kroger higher ups are trying to get anyone using this to switch to the generic. The pharmacist had to special order my Junel, and it took a few weeks for it to come in. Bah.

Warning...... I'm getting a little descriptive below, but not as descriptive as I got with the Kroger customer service form on the internet.

I was wondering if I got too descriptive, but today I got a call from someone in Kroger, and he said that he's going to tell the managers at the upcoming meeting about my comments. He was all "thank you for mentioning this." So now I guess it was okay I got descriptive. LOL

So I missed the American Greetings Christmas party, because I had to go to get a CT scan.

The staffperson at the gyn's office told me that I had to empty my bladder first, then drink two bottles of water before the sonogram.

The sonogram tech was really happy about that I had a nice full bladder..... I was just worried about peeing the table! Here she is pressing on my abdomen with that wand. LOL.

CT scan.... if you never had one before, they give you a dye that gets injected into a vein. They'll put a 'port' in your vein, tape it in, and then inject the dye through that. I saw the 'port', but didn't get to see the dye being injected in. They had me put my arms over my head.

They told me that the dye would give a warm feeling, which was nice as that place was cold, and I was trying not to shiver. Not sure if that would mess up the CT scan. It makes you feel as if you've peed. LOL.

There's different side effects. The staff guy (who assisted the tech) told me that if I developed hives, rash or difficulty breathing, they would shut down the CT scan. But the only reaction I had was vertigo, which my maternal Grandma used to have. Though she also got big welts from CT scan dye.

The CT technician says to me afterwards, "Wow, those are some big fibroids." Oh, joy.

She also told me that I needed to drink plenty of fluids the next few days to flush the CT scan dye out of my system.

I'm now wondering if that was what was behind a really bad vertigo attack I had last night, as yesterday I only drank about 16oz.

Anyhow, that was my experience, in case anyone had never had a CT scan, you now have some idea of what to expect. Except for me they were attempting to scan the pelvic area, so someone getting a different area scanned might not get the peeing sensation.

I asked the tech if anyone had ever peed the table, and she said only once in 20 years. It was a 90-something year old man, who wasn't very aware of his surroundings.

Okay, so I had to go to the gynecologist to get my bc pills updated. I was given these a few years back by a different gynecologist, for heavy bleeding, ovarian cyst and to help keep the fibroids from growing more.

Unfortunately, my insurance changed and I couldn't go back to the previous gynecologist. (I've now rectified that situation, I've switched insurance through the marketplace and I'll be able to go see her again. Yeah.)

Well a couple months back, my prescription ran out. So I went ahead and scheduled a visit with the new gyn in an attempt to get my script renewed.

He decided to feel my uterus. He didn't like that it's about the size of a 16 week pregnancy. Well, I knew that a few years back when this first came up. (I just thought I was getting fat, until I noticed in the mirror my 'fat' was beginning to look like a baby bump. Fibroids run in the family, which is what prompted the visit to a gyn after many years of not going. My bad, I know.) He's like "And you're fine with that?" I said, "well, it's better than major surgery!"

He's thinking the fibroids might be bugging my kidneys. (I hope not!) I'd rather have a D&C. He's suggesting a hysterectomy.

So I'm going to get bloodwork done Monday, and then I go to an imaging place to have a sonogram and something else done.

I don't want a hysterectomy. That would be at least 6 weeks recovery time. I really can't afford to take that much time off work. Plus I help my dad with mom, one of the things I assist with is getting Mom in her wheel chair. If I had a hysterectomy, I would not be able to do any lifting for 6 weeks.

Sigh.... I want a second opinion!

Anyway....

At least I don't have any pain from the darned things.....
