Foot note

Well, got my stitches out about two weeks ago..... I've been slowly healing up.

I rented a 'knee scooter' but that thing hurt my knee worse than it hurt my foot to walk in the boot, so I only used it for a couple days. Sigh. Oh, well....

I'm still supposed to wearing the boot when I'm out and about. But at the visit last week, I was told I could start practicing wearing shoes again at home. "But don't overdo it." He tells me. (I'm bad at that, overdoing it, I mean.)


And practicing walking, it's like my foot forgot how to walk, and I'm some odd hobbling beast. But better than when I had boot and crutches, and I was some lumbering four legged beast. (I want to make a sort of Halloween costume with all that.)

I have another appointment this Thursday.

Also, does anyone on my friends' list take pain pills? I was unusually achy today. I was not this bad Thursday. I take one pill a day for swelling and pain. (Don't remember the name of the med right now.) I used to take it in the morning, but drowsiness is one of the side effects, so I switched to taking it in the evenings. (It does not seem to put me to sleep at night, in fact, I've been waking up every few hours. Ha!)

It's an NSAID, and I have acid reflux, so I decided to give my stomach a rest from it Saturday night. I wasn't planning to do anything Sunday, other than my laundry. I took the regular dose Sunday night.

Cue all the aches and pain I've had all day today. I am so wiped.

Anyway.....

My step-Grandpa served in WWII. We have his diary, but it's very boring, and I've not read all of it. Must look for it again.

But this may be a picture of him. It sure looks like him, but with dark hair. His name is Neil Guptill, and he's listed as a Private.

He's in picture three, the eighth person from your right, on the top row.

I so need to scan the picture of him and my grandma Getha, and post that online.

I don't know if he ever communicated with the others from his troop after the war.

I've often thought that if I ever decided to change my last name from something common to something different, I'd use Guptill.

Anyway.....
